Gallery: buy, sell and offers

Hartii Gallery is an NFT marketplace on Quai mainnet. This guide covers browsing, buying, selling and offers.

Who it's for: first-time NFT buyers and sellers. You'll need: the Pelagus wallet (pelaguswallet.io) and some QUAI for the price plus gas. Add only what you intend to use.

Browsing needs no wallet. Connect only when you choose to create, buy, list or make an offer.

If a read is interrupted, the gallery shows a plain-language message and a retry action. A failed sales read does not mean there have been no sales. Collection and token history distinguish unavailable data from an actual empty result; technical provider errors are not visitor copy.

The closing room is Daaim: “Daaim means eternity. Art is eternal, and so is the chain. We are here to document it all: the beautiful, the good, the bad and the ugly, the art and the unexpected. We are here to bring forth the beauty in every artifact produced on chain. Eternal is understated. Hartii Gallery is the home where the art is.” — Ibo K H H the Fourth

On a weak connection, known immutable artwork starts with a tiny preview of the same piece, then sharpens in its reserved frame. Portraits and landscapes keep their space as they load. Download failures keep the head procession's slots, and vertical swipes do not steer the floating frames sideways. A single still painting remains fixed while the gallery scrolls above it. Artwork already cached on this device can be reused across app updates. Live activity still requires a connection and keeps its dated status.

  • The home page is a walk through rooms: floating collection art, In residence (the $ober room and a procession of his real tokens), Live on Quai, Spotlights, the collection wall, The numbers and the closing Daaim room. Hover or focus a frame or head to bring it forward; press Enter, or tap twice on a phone, to open it. The rooms use real index data and show a dash for anything unknown. While NFT history is incomplete or unavailable, quiet rooms can hang real artwork and figures from the collection catalogue; these are collection figures, not complete NFT-index totals. The index-status strip reports history progress separately.
  • Market · buys & sells lists recent Hartii marketplace buys and sells. On a screen 1100 px wide or more it is a rail on the right that you can collapse; it starts collapsed below 1360 px, and your browser remembers your choice. On a phone or tablet, a ticker pill at the bottom shows the latest sale and opens the list in a sheet; drag it down, press Escape or press Close to dismiss it. Each row links to its transaction on the explorer. It says so when there are no sales yet or when the feed is unavailable.
  • The camel mark in the navigation bar and footer is a clock: its hand moves one tick for every Quai block. Hover the navigation mark to read the block number.
  • Explore starts with indexed collection artwork and the artist residency. Collections keep four artwork columns on phones and laptops, with natural portrait or landscape proportions and responsive image requests. Preview tiles show only the image, with no storage badge or caption area beneath it. Hover or keyboard-focus a tile to see its name and count; on phones, tap once to reveal those details and again to open the collection. Tap outside or press Escape to dismiss them.
  • Use Search collections for a name, symbol or contract address. All collections, On the market, Discovered on Quai, the sort menu and Filters refine the wall. Gallery and Table switch the view; the URL preserves your selection. Reset view clears it.
  • The index line shows when the catalogue response was generated. A partial or unavailable response is labelled; indexed previews and item counts are distinct from confirmed supply. An unavailable image falls back to another saved preview or a named placeholder.
  • Open the index-status strip beneath the hero to inspect the block read, last report and history progress. Live updates paused describes a temporary interruption, while Reading Quai’s NFT history or Catching up with Quai describes incomplete reading. Browse art takes you directly to the collection wall; Check again requests a fresh status. If a recovery time is available, automatic checks wait until then.
  • Quiet activity, spotlight, number and sales rooms can hang real collection artwork while the live index recovers. Those pieces are not invented sales: they do not acquire a buyer, seller, transaction or paid price. A failed refresh retains the last dated read for that same view; changing a filter never reuses a different feed. NFT and owner totals carry their own snapshot block, which can be older than the latest activity read.
  • A still floral-silk painting stays fixed behind the gallery and translucent collection surfaces. It does not animate or follow scrolling. A small same-painting preview appears while the original-quality painting loads. Pause gallery motion in the footer pauses the hero, the scroll rooms, the heads, the spotlight rotation and the count-ups; Resume gallery motion restores them. Your browser remembers the choice, and system reduced-motion settings remain in charge. The background stays still in every mode.
  • Every floating frame is reachable through its exposed corners, including the smaller frames at the back. Hover or focus brings it above the stack. On a phone, the first tap brings it forward and the next tap opens the collection; tap outside or press Escape to put it back.
  • Open $ober's artist room from the residency or navigation. $ober is Hartii Biome's backed lead artist. Tap a framed work to inspect it; use the previous/next buttons or arrow keys, and Close or Escape to return. Inspect this work opens its item page. The residency is an editorial selection, not a statement that an item is for sale.
  • Market shows ERC-721 items listed for sale, with Listings and Activity tabs, search and price filters.
  • Open a collection to inspect supply, listings and trust badges: Frozen (metadata sealed), Mutable (the creator can still change it), IPFS, On-Chain Art, HTTP and Legacy Contract. See mutable and frozen. A discovery listing is not an endorsement.

2. Connect

  1. Open hartiigallery.com.
  2. Press Connect Wallet in the top bar and approve in Pelagus.

3. Buy an NFT

  1. In Market, or a collection's listings, find an item.
  2. Press Buy now (the button reads "Buy now · price").
  3. Confirm in Pelagus. Check the amount and the network.
  4. You will see "Purchased! This NFT is now yours." The item appears on your Wallet page and under Collected works on your Dashboard.

If you see "This listing is no longer available", someone bought it first and nothing was spent.

4. Sell (list) an NFT

  1. Open an NFT you own and press Sell / List.
  2. Type a Price (QUAI).
  3. Press Confirm.
  4. The first listing in a collection signs 2 transactions: a one-time marketplace approval, then the listing. Later listings from that collection need 1.

To cancel a listing: open your Wallet page, find the item under your active listings and press Cancel. Cancelling costs gas.

5. Offers

  • Token offer: on an item page press Make offer, enter an amount in QUAI, pick an expiry (No expiry, 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days) and send.
  • Collection offer: on a collection page press Make Collection Offer. Any holder may accept.
  • Your offer amount is held by the marketplace contract until it is accepted, expires or you cancel it.
  • As a holder: on your Dashboard, Offers Received lists offers on your items, each with an Accept button. My Offers lists the ones you made, and you can cancel them.

6. Upload artwork when you create a collection

This covers only the artwork upload on the Create a collection page.

  • Artwork is PNG, JPEG or WEBP. Hartii sets no limit on how many images you upload or how much you upload in total, and there is no daily allowance.
  • Your wallet asks for one free signature, "Hartii Gallery: permission to upload your collection art". It sends no transaction and cannot move funds. It is valid for up to 30 minutes and covers every image of the session.
  • A large collection uploads in batches. The page shows "Batch X of Y" as it goes. A temporary failure is retried automatically. If the upload still stops, the page says which batch it stopped at and how many images are saved. Press the deploy button again and it resumes from that batch. The saved images are remembered only until you reload or close the page.
  • The one hard boundary is what a single upload request can carry (Cloudflare's 95 MiB request limit). One image can be at most 94 MiB. If an image is too large, the page tells you to resize or compress it.
  • Images up to 3 MB are uploaded exactly as they are. A bigger image is re-encoded before upload, best quality first (up to 3072 px), until it is at most 3 MB.
  • If the main storage provider is unavailable, the page shows a banner. Uploads then go to a backup provider that accepts images up to about 1 MB each. A bigger image is optimised to fit when you pick it (a smaller WebP, never below 1024 px). Only an image that still does not fit is refused, with the reason.

Fees

Marketplace sale (direct sale or accepted offer)2.5% platform fee, hard-capped at 5% in the contract
Creator royalty on resales0 to 8%, set by the creator

The seller receives the price minus the platform fee and any royalty. The site's Fees page and Gallery contracts have the details.

Common mistakes

  • Wrong network. Hartii runs on Quai mainnet. Verify every wallet prompt before signing.
  • "Insufficient funds". You need the price plus gas.
  • Transaction looks stuck. Look it up on quaiscan.io. Don't resend until you know whether it succeeded.
  • Rejected in Pelagus. The site shows a cancelled message and nothing happens; just try again.
  • Surprise art. Check the badges first: a Mutable collection's art can change.
  • External metadata did not load. Gallery fetches browser metadata only from content-addressed IPFS through approved gateways or its same-origin proxy. It does not contact an arbitrary HTTPS host chosen by a token owner; an item without approved metadata uses the labelled fallback.
